The ranch
history dates back to part of the historical Hughes
Ranch established in 1879 in today's Kendall County,
Texas. The Hughes family, pioneer's of their time were
one of the first in the U.S. to import Merino sheep to
enhance the existing sheep herds of the area. The ranch
and the area has changed greatly over time, however the
emphasis has remained the same, to improve existing
herds with new breeds and genetics.
Over one hundred and ten years later, Menger Creek Ranch
began importing South African Boer Goats from the finest
genetics available in New Zealand and South Africa.
Today, Menger Creek Ranch breeds both Fullblood and
Percentage South African Boer Goats. The powerful
dominant traits of the South African Boer Goat have
allowed Menger Creek Ranch to develop the most
marketable Meat Goat in the World today.
We are located in Boerne, Texas about thirty miles north
of San Antonio, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
